Imagine Play has done many character appearances in our play area and you can get one included in your birthday party package. The kids love seeing their favorite character at their birthday party. You can get ice princess, hawaiian princess, belle, catboy and more. If you are interested in booking a character, here’s what to expect during your party time.
The kids love hearing a story from the characters. We like doing interactive story time. They like to get the kids engaged by telling them a story and asking them questions to perk their interests.
Usually, they help the kids do a sing-a-long with some of their favorite songs. We love it when the kids hold hands and really get involved with the sing-a-long.
All the characters have different backgrounds and talents. Some of them like to teach a dance.
While others, do a snow trick.
Sometimes, they play a game such as freeze dance or parachute.
And then of course, we take lots of pictures.
About this time the party is pretty hungry, so while we wait to sing to the birthday child, the characters do a filler activity with the kids. It can be face painting, tattoos or a small craft.
The character usually stays to sing happy birthday and to finish up any last minute pictures with the guest of honor.
You can see more of our party packages on our website or email us for more details.

Ho ho ho! It’s time to get into the holiday spirit with Santa’s Workshop Pretend Play. Our play area changes every month, December is the month to merry and we want all your little Elves to join us for some festive fun. They can even dress the part with our elf and santa hats.
The workshop has all the components any little elf would love.
We love these take apart and build toys. Your little one can build a plane, roadster or crane truck using a motorized drill and toddler friendly bolts and bits.
You can make a special deliver to Santa by mailing letters in our mailbox.
The kids can decorate the tree to their heart’s content by placing stick on ornaments on our felt tree. We have all types of ornaments like snowmen, candy canes and stockings. It’s much more than just decorating, it’s learning about shapes and objects.
The best thing about being in the North pole is being able to ride a reindeer. We have ones you can bounce on.
At Imagine Play we often try to think of creative ways to add fun surprises to our special events and birthday parties. We love these Coco inspired party headband that we created for our Dia De Los Muertos party. This is a great party favor for your guests and it’s easier to make than you think.
Start by cutting out squares of tissues paper. They can be between 3×3 or 4×4 in length. They don’t need to be an extra square.
Cut the tissue paper into a round shape. Again, they don’t need to be a perfect circle.
Now fold each piece of tissue paper into fours so it looks like a butterfly.
Group each butterfly into groups of 4 or 5. You can do a larger group if you want fuller flowers.
Use some glue to glue the flower together or if you are low on time like us you can glue the tissue directly to the headband with hot glue, but be careful. Use three different colors for the most festival feel. You can do more colors too to make the headband feel more full.
We gave these headbands to girls, but also did the same technique to top hats for boys. With some facepainting, it was the perfect party favor!
Happy Turkey Day! Three days of thanksgiving art camp just ended. The kids learned about the season autumn, we played autumn/thanksgiving themed games and of course did tons of art.
A couple of days of camp we read books. One was to teach the kids about the changing of the seasons. We asked them about their favorite season and talked about what makes the season of autumn special. The other book we read on the last day was a counting story to teach them about thanksgiving. On other days we did felt boards, where we read them a story about fall.
The kids had to guest which felt items connected to the store and then we hung them on the wall.
One of the days we played Thanksgiving Bingo. The kids used fruit loops as markers, but you can use goldfish or any other snack. It was a great pre-snack time activity.
Art projects included necklace making. We love these fall foam beads!
The kids really took their time coloring wooden fall themed objects.
One of our favorite activities was making these clay turkeys. We used air dry clay with beads for the turkey’s face. Once they hardened the kids got to paint them too!
Mask making was also a hit. The kids got to choose between a pumpkin or a wolf mask.
On the last day we had a little friendsgiving where the kids got to play tic-tac-toe among some other things on an interactive tablecloth.
The kids got to make thanksgiving inspired headbands to wear during snack time.
We ended camp with making thankful turkeys. We talked about what they were thankful for. Of course, to be expects many of the kids said their families. 🙂
We had an undersea adventure at Imagine Play with this Mermaid Kids Birthday Party! It was mer-mazing and we love the color scheme of aqua, purple and all things mermaid!
Of course we started with our beloved staples, our backdrops and balloon arches! We opted for mostly pastel colors for this party. The table decor included Mermaid plates and some fun items such as paper lanterns decorated in undersea creatures.
The table also got several jars of seashells.
Other areas includes some fun mermaid details with jelly fish lanterns.
The walls and our name board got a helping of seaweed made of streamers.
The parents opted for this beautiful desert table by Paperie By Paula. It had all kinds of sweet treats such as cake pops, rice crispy treats, macarons and more.
We also included a surprise photo backdrop so the kids can be mermaids!
This was our favorite little detail.
Our mermaid princess came to visit too. She gave the kids mermaid tattoos, told them a story, did a sing-a-long and played a game with them.
This was one of the cutest themed parties. You can check out all our other themed parties here on our blog.
We’re making some noise over at Imagine Play this month with our Music Dramatic Play. We know how much kids love to sing, dance and create. This month’s theme will fulfill the hearts of those creative minds.
We start with a picture worthy musical backdrop.
The back wall includes a Xylophone (not pictured) and a light up frog drum set. The kids can freestyle, but there is a also a game where they kids have to catch a fly by tapping the drum when they see the fly.
There is also a guitar the kids can wear and pretend to rock out. It plays different genres of music and has light up buttons.
The kids love to dance on the giant floor piano. They can freestyle and also record a song and play it back.
However, their favorite activity from the Music Dramatic Play is singing along to Moana and Elsa on these microphones. They can spend quite a while listening and following along to the words.
Come join us for Open Play this month to create music.

Imagine Play turns ONE this week! We can’t believe it’s been a over 365 days since our doors opened. We survived so many challenges this year, but we made it!
Our first year hurdles included pricing changes and continuously adding onto our policies. The kids surprise and challenge us with their creative playing everyday. The play area also has made major transformations. We have added many new toys since October of last year and we continue to add every month.
It’s been a learning experience for sure and although there has been some low moments it was still an amazing year nonetheless. We are so grateful for our community and all the friendly faces we have grown to love.
We hosted a couple of parties to celebrate our birthday this year. They were so much fun! Of course, our cupcake rainbow party was too cute!
The kids got their face painted, animal balloons and so much more.
We did a recap of all the fun special events in replacement to our hourly activities. The kids loved meeting all the characters.
We started with airplane making with Skye and continued with story time with our Ice Princess. The day later continued with a visit from Belle and ended with a Hula with Moana and a visit from Catboy.
Here’s a short video of all the birthday fun we had.
….and we answer all your questions including what’s to come in our 2nd year in our 1st year update video below.
